This is the Earth Some time into the future. It has reshaped itself Into a new planet after being burned and scarred by the fires of nuclear war, and is once again beginning to look lush and green with life in certain areas. This is all thanks to its mysterious benefactors, Lord Time, and Mother Gaia. After joining together in holy matrimony, They had found a special man, and a special woman from the Earth, and awoke their genes. It was helped by the fact they had endured much radiation, but had a strange immunity to it since birth, this actually being a process that was changing them slowly into controllers of elements, in this case, Light, and Darkness.
Master Bright was the wielder of Light, and Lady Shade the wielder of Darkness. In turn they too decided two hands, no less under that of the Gods needed help. So Four Elements were made, Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, you get the idea. Four people were found with altered genes, enduring the same radiation immunity and being dubbed 'mutants' until they were given their amazing powers that they have today. Together they would spread the beliefs of Lord Time and Mother Gaia by the newfound religion of 'Shoushin.'
-The Four Lands-
These are the lands starting to show the rebirth of nature. Sengoku (Africa) and Shura (Eurasia) Are still wastelands.
North America Became known as 'Midorii' Land of the soil, with the strongest military known, as well as a place for knowledge and healing thanks to its universities. It has a mix of cities, and a beautiful countryside.
South America Became 'Tenkuu' Land of the breeze. A Land inspired by ancient china, home to both common people like any other land, as well as jungle dwellers. It has scenic farms and produces most of the food. It is also the center of the martial arts world.
Australia became 'Akai' Land of the heat. Ruled in Monarchy/Aristocracy, it seeks to make itself look like ages such as The Roman/Greek Empires, The Renaissance, the 18th century, anything with class. It holds the best businessmen and women as well as most of the new world's inventions.
Antarctica became 'Yuki' Land of the freeze. It was the most industrial and close to the cities of old, mass producing and putting to physical use, the work done by Akai's businessmen and inventions, along with the products of other lands. It rules currently with a sort of Democracy that still has a monarch ruler.
Africa (Sengoku) and Eurasia (Shura) would remain uncontrolled, and giant areas of the wasteland that had to be taken over at some point. Until then, each of the four nations offered peace to its people and protection from outside bandits.

Lady Shade, who lived on a small island nation close to Australia, was the one to begin stirring up trouble: She would go on to realize each ruler had perfections and abilities she did not. Angered, she slowly visited their lands more often, turning them against one another, the four moving into Sengoku to lead their armies into battle.
The wandering Master Bright who desired no political power, but rather to walk the earth and do right was called upon to stop Lady Shade by any means. However, he was unable to do so, having fallen in love with her, and unable to harbor any violent feelings to any being. At this decision, they came up with the idea of finding one as noble as Bright, but with the spirit to fight, and grant him this power.
They found it in a traveling young man who was once formerly a monk, but had renounced his ways to battle in the apocalyptic land of Sengoku for the sake of the weak. Inspired by his courage, this hero was given the less known element of quintessence: neutral energy. Known once as Qi, Chi, Ki, etc. The force said to return balance where there was none. The young man had studied in the universities of Midorii, worked in the factories of Yuki, served the rich and the intelligent in Akai, and trained in martial arts in his homeland of Tenkuu.
The young man was given the mission of reuniting the war torn land, and to end the madness of Lady Shade, who plotted to selfishly take the world for herself. The final straw truly came though when Bright pleaded that Lady shade reveal the truth and stop the war from even happening, before being killed in cold blood, and Shade claiming Bright was trying to rape her after denying his feelings.

Girls
1) Ningyo No Yuki -Water, Mermaid of the Snow Land-
The Princess of Yuki. A Demanding ruler that seems like a naggy wife, quick to get angry. She does her best to make life easy for her people, but it is difficult. And her people understand. But everyone outside of her land thinks working in her cities is like slavery.
She can only fire water blasts from the pores of her skin, like out the palms of her hands. This means she must drink, shower, etc often to absorb water. If she has too much excess water, she'll need to pee like crazy.
2) Shikaze No Tenkuu -Air, White Wind of the Air Land-
Princess of Tenkuu. A Laid back young lady raised since birth as a Jungle Girl, whose family was elected into the government. She is a most decent ruler, making easy taxes and throwing parties and festivals often. She is often confronted with the problem of bridging the gap between the fairly civilized jungle people and the more civilized regular people. She is one with nature due to the way she has lived, and the fact she uses air. Animals love her, and will protect her from any attacker.
She has to use breathing techniques to use air. In turn she can leap high into the air, move quickly, and, her best, and most offensive move, fire air bursts.
3) Kage No Gesshoku -Darkness, Shadow of the Eclipse-
Lady Shade. You already read her story. She has an island nation near Australia where she hides and waits. Beauty and superiority is her main concern. Her formal wear is black, but she prefers other colors. Pretty much the Villainess.

Guys
1) Yaseijin No Akai -Fire,Wild Young Man of the Red Land-
A Snobby Hot-Shot who, as opposed to the Princess of Tenkuu, is absolutely lazy, and leaves the ruling up to his strict mother and siblings. He's a huge womanizer and partygoer, once even dating said princess of tenkuu before they had a bad breakup. He enjoys racing, gambling, that sort of thing. Deep down he can do the right thing. He just does stupid things first, never thinking before he acts. Ever since Master Bright died, he named himself as a Sun God, earning much more fear than admiration and respect.
He has a short temper which helps, because extreme emotion or stress activates his fire.

2) Yama No Midorri -Earth, Mountain of the Green Land-
A Gentle Giant who rules with a firm, but soft fist, balancing his land to have both farms and cities to help the other lands. He shares the land formerly known as America with the princess of tenkuu, dividing North And South into Midorii and Tenkuu. He has a deep love for creatures big and small, and will become enraged if someone hurts even something as small as a baby bird. He is often known to Shoushin Monks as the 'Mountain Golemn Saint,' given the image as the protector of Children, the man having fostered not only dozens of pets, but tons of orphans.
The earth comes magnetically to his hands. From there, he holds and lifts it all himself with his own strength. He can take blunt attacks well, but like any person, even his durable skin can be pierced, but that doesn't mean he feels much of the pain. this is why he is considered a Golemn.
3) Danketsu No Ki -Quintessence, Energy of Unity- (JayZeroSnake)
